Have a spa-related question? We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!
If you ask 100 pedicurists what the difference between a classic pedicure and spa-type pedicure is, the unanimous answer would be pampering. While we believe this is true, we feel the difference is much more significant. A classic spa pedicure is a relatively simple service that cleanses, exfoliates, and polishes toes for well-groomed “pretty feet.” It’s the perfect maintenance service. The spa pedicure takes the service to a new level.
While you might see trendy offerings like ice cream pedicures or fish pedicures in magazines or on television, a true spa-pedicure is not only pampering, it’s therapeutic and healing. Contact us today for a manicure and pedicure you won't be able to stop thinking about.
You don’t want to dry regular polish with a UV lamp. There’s no benefit because it’s not for drying; it’s a specific tool nail salons often use for curing. Curing means you’re starting a chemical reaction that causes the gel to harden. In this chemical reaction, the UV light makes the monomers and oligomers in the gel-polish link up into polymers. The polymer network holds the color and shimmer particles in place.
Conventional polish hardens by drying the solvents rather than curing. The polymers are already made, so there’s nothing for the UV lamp to cure. When you put regular polish in a UV lamp, it’s just the heat that might make your dry time seem faster. In that case, if you must speed up dry time, just order a heat lamp.
As well as gel and shellac manicures, acrylic nails are proving to be very popular, with the likes of Kylie Jenner and Rihanna sporting them on a daily basis. There is no denying that they make your nails look amazing, but at what price?
In order for acrylics to stick to your natural nails, your nails must be filed down so the surface of your nail becomes rough. Many are concerned that this causes your natural nails to become thinner and therefore weaker, meaning breakage could be more likely. This can be the case, but only if your acrylics are not being done by a professional. If done by a professional, they will know how to carry out the process without causing damage to your natural nails. Contact our nail salon today to have professionals take care of your natural nails.
Whether you have powder gel or acrylics, to keep a manicure lasting to its full potential, avoid getting your nails wet for too long (constant soaking in hot baths or not wearing rubber gloves when washing the dishes). You should also avoid coming into contact for prolonged periods with chemicals like those in sunscreen, perfumed products, and insect repellent. Finally, don’t pick at your manicure under any circumstances. Instead, book a repair if one of your nails is damaged. Otherwise, treat yourself to another treatment.
To get the most out of your manicure, we always recommend wearing rubber gloves when doing the dishes and not using your nails as tools in your everyday life. We also recommend moisturizing your hands with a special focus on your fingernails and cuticle areas. Furthermore, we’d advise a healthy diet and food high in vitamin B (Biotin), such as bananas and strawberries.
Finally, we’d recommend visiting a nail salon such as Best Nails Spalon every two to three weeks for good nail maintenance. So book now if it’s coming up to two weeks since your last visit!
For acrylic nails, the strong resin is made of a powder and a liquid mixed together. It’s very hard-wearing and we recommend it to people who bite their nails or use their hands a lot. For gel powder nails, the resin is a lot like acrylic and the composition is very similar. However, the finish is more clear compared to acrylic nails and it's slightly better quality. We’d recommend this to anyone going for a pale/nude color on their manicured nails. UV gel, on the other hand, is a hard gel that will allow you to make your nails longer without damaging your nail beds too much. It’s more flexible than acrylic and gel powder and not as hard-wearing but it feels lighter on your hands. This needs to be cured by UV light, hence the name.
Walk-ins are always welcome at our nail salon. However, appointments are recommended to reduce wait times.
At our nail salon, we carry a full line of Zoya nail polish which is both vegan safe and cruelty-free.
All of our technicians are fully vaccinated and continue to wear masks. All of our instruments are either single-use or sterilized in a medical-grade autoclave. We use liners in our pedicure chairs and hand sanitizer is available at all manicure stations. Every evening, we sanitize the entire nail salon with a disinfecting fog.
For any extension, we recommend a fill-in every two weeks to maintain the integrity of the nail. Call our nail salon to schedule your appointment!
